Lamellen Lodge is a charming Victorian Gate Lodge at the entrance to Lamellen Estate and the private drive up to the main house. Two large bedrooms with views over the River Allen and the garden to the rear of the property and a smaller single, a kitchen diner with all facilities and a comfortable lounge with warming wood burning stove, relaxing sofas, TV, DVD and VHS! To the rear of the property is a private patio area, surrounded on three sides by the River Allen which winds around the house giving a magical feel of living on an island. With excellent access to the A39 all of the delights of the north Cornwall coast are within easy reach, the golden sandy beaches are plentiful from Trebarwith Strand to Newquay and you are thoroughly spoilt for choice. The quaint fishing village of Port Isaac is 10 minutes away and is famed for being an artist's retreat and a film location for the likes of Doc Martin and Poldark. Padstow, and Rock, on the opposite bank of the Camel Estuary, are both well worth a visit and there are a plethora of restaurants to suit all tastes from Michelin starred fine dining to cosy Cornish pubs with great home cooked food. Accommodation Ground Floor: The front door opens into a reception room with sofa, table and chairs and views over the rear garden, open access to both the kitchen / dining area with fully fitted units and the lounge area with comfortable sofas and a wood burning stove, doors leading to utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, further WC with wash hand basin and also back door to the rear garden. Staircase leads from the lounge to: First Floor: Stairs lead up to landing with doors to; bedroom with 5' double bed, storage and garden / river views. Second bedroom with 6' zip and link double / twin, storage TV and DVD player and garden / river views. Third bedroom with 3' single bed and storage. Family bathroom with shower over the bath, WC and hand basin. Exterior: There is parking outside for at least 2 cars outside of the property. There is a lawned, enclosed private garden with patio table and chairs and barbecue. Facilities & Services The kitchen has a range of units & work tops. There is an electric oven and hob, a microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, American style fridge freezer. The utility room contains a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board. The sitting room has a wood-burning stove and a flat screen digital TV with Freesat & combined DVD / VHS player. WiFi is available at the property. There is a further TV in the zip and link bedroom. Miscellaneous Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. Wood is supplied for the wood-burning stove. There is parking available for 2 cars. Regrettably there is no smoking. A maximum of 2 well behaved dogs may stay in the cottage at a small additional price of £30.00 per dog per week. Please note dogs may not be left unattended in the property and are not permitted upstairs. There is a cot and high chair available on request. The A39 is close to the property so there is some road noise during busier times. General Booking Information Arrival / Departure is normally a Saturday. Short breaks are available during quieter periods. £200 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required. We have just returned back from a week's family stay at the Lodge. We found pretty much everything necessary there plus extra touches like flasks, torches, matches etc. It was very clean and tidy and the beds were very comfortable. The isolation was lovely and...More
