Interaction with guests
We very much look forward to welcoming all our guests to St Oswald's Farm. We will be here to greet you on your arrival and will happily light the stove so that a warm welcome awaits. A small welcome hamper will be provided and will always include, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and free range eggs. The cottage is fully equipped and all the information you need should be included within the guest folder provided. We will of course be happy to answer any queries you may have before or during your stay...please just ask. We live close by and are on hand should you require anything during your stay.

We enjoyed a three night stay in this lovely cottage. The cottage is beautifully presented, highest spec, fully functioning kitchen with all appliances and equipment, huge bathroom and fantastically comfortable bed. Great location. The historic town of Hexham is only 4 miles away with its majestic abbey dating back to AD674 and boasting a new visitor centre, there is a vibrant art scene, Old Gaol, cinema, theatre, local market, a choice of parks together with a lovely blend of quirky independent shops and high street favourites. You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out or enjoying a relaxed drink with a huge range of cafes and restaurants.
Heavenfield Cottage is located on the ‘Military Road’ and couldn’t be more perfect and accessible for exploring the major sites along Hadrian’s Wall, small pieces lie within walking distance, and a half hour drive is all that’s needed to discover Chesters, Vindolanda, Brocolitia, The Roman Army Museum at Housesteads,

The most convenient way to get around the area is by car, particularly to make the most of the many visitor attractions along Hadrian's Wall. The local town of Hexham does have bus and train links should you wish to travel to Newcastle, Gateshead, Carlisle lines.

Railway: Hexham: 8.0 km
From the South – From the A1, take the exit for Hexham onto the A69 and stay on the A69, taking the third exit on Styford roundabout continuing on the A69 until the exit for Corbridge. Take the third exit onto the A68 and continue for 2 miles until the Stagshaw roundabout (Errington Arms pub). Take the first exit onto the B6318 and continue for 3 miles, St Oswald’s Farm is on the right.
From the North on the A68, travel to Stagshaw roundabout and take the third exit and follow the B6318 to Chollerford, continue for 3 miles and St Oswald’s Farm is on your right.
Satellite Navigation systems normally find us ok, NE46 4HB.
The local town of Hexham, 5 miles away, has good excellent train and bus links.
