About the neighbourhood
Llansteffan is a small peaceful village in a spectacular location by the 3 rivers estuary in Carmarthen Bay. Situated between the Tywi estuary & gorgeous green countryside, its as quiet and unspoilt a place as you are ever likely to find. Carmarthen Bay is a European Special Area of Conservation & as well as being exceptionally beautiful it contains a rich diversity of habitats & wildlife. Choose to spend a day at the beach, explore the 13th Century Norman Castle, stroll along the extensive Wales Coast Path, or go on stunning country walks through fields and woodlands.
Getting around
Local buses connect Llansteffan to Carmarthen, where there is a train station. However to visit the attractions a bit further afield a car is recommended. The glorious Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Dylan Thomas’s boat house at Laugharne, the Gwili Steam Railway, Aberglasney Gardens, and the National Botanic Garden of Wales are all roughly half an hours drive away; while Dinefwr Castle, the Brecon Beacons National Park, Oakwood theme park, and the Gower Peninsula are all under an hours drive away.
