Mulberry Cottage overlooks the green within Staple. This was originally one of the farms servicing the needs of nearby Dartington Hall and Estate. The cottage was part of the main farmhouse, with the woodsman and farm hands living in the surrounding buildings. Now Staple is a beautiful hamlet in it’s own right within the village of Dartington and only a few minutes drive to the eclectic town of Totnes. 
Mulberry Cottage was redesigned by Lady Elmhurst in the 1960’s and has been beautifully renovated. With large windows, well proportioned rooms, quality appliances and quirky reclaimed features, this property will charm and delight. (Look out for the porthole mirror and overhead ocean liner parcel shelves.)

Lovely cottage, plenty of room and nicely furnished. Beautiful hamlet where it's situated although parking can be interesting if more than 1 car. Very dog-friendly- plenty of space and nice garden. Cosy with log burner in lounge. Cott Inn down the road excellent for meals and dog-friendly. Easy to get to walks at Dartington and into Totnes.

Stayed here for 5 days at Whitson (May 2017). We were a party of 8, comprising two families and two dogs.

Booking was a breeze, Quintin was very responsive and helpful over email.

On arrival, the property was easy to find thanks to excellent instructions and it was clean and tidy. Milk was in the fridge and a bottle of wine and cake were waiting for us in the kitchen too.

The house is lovely, downstairs is a large kitchen with big utility area (ideal bedroom area for the doggies). There is also a large and comfortable living area with two massive sofas to sit 8 and a great TV. A woodburner is also there which we lit (because we wanted to play) but didnt need as it was a warm day!

There is a dining room across the corridor from the living room, its probably my least favorite room as it it large and quite dark and always feels a bit chilly. Has a great dining table though!

Upstairs are 4 bedrooms, two excellent kingsize bedrooms at the front...
