Region: From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer? Town: Home to the famous Bronte sisters, the small village of Haworth and the surrounding moorland inspired the women to put pen to paper and to write what have now become classics of English literature. With its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets, there is a wonderful period atmosphere in this charming town set against the backdrop of countryside that would eventually be made famous in 'Wuthering Heights'. The Worth Valley Railway is also nearby and was used in the film 'The Railway Children'. Trips around the old village of Oxenhope on the wonderful steam trains make for a special day out whilst The Bronte Parsonage museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the Museum of Rail all make equally good attractions whilst the market town of Skipton - often called the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales - is only a short drive away.More

Beautifully kept barn, surrounded by fields and stables. Lovely to look at the horses from the kitchen window, watching the owners tend them. Very clean and comfortable lodgings, we slept really well in the king-size bed and woke to views across the hills
