Perfectly kitted out Shepherd's hut - Peaceful and private
A warm welcome from Sally who made it clear they were there if we needed anything but otherwise left us alone to enjoy the surroundings. The hut is tastefully done and surprisingly roomy. Nice touch that there is fresh milk and Welsh cakes when you arrive - we were even lucky to get a couple of freshly laid eggs! Great to have the outside space to relax and eat outside. A beautiful setting with great access to local beauty spots. Plenty of parking close to the hut. Extremely comfortable bed!

Idyllic and peaceful retreat in a great location
The owners Sally and Jim are so helpful and friendly. Right from the start of making enquiries Sally always answered my emails quickly sometimes within a couple of hours! She gave us information about places to visit and eat locally and reassured us by explaining the additional Covid safe procedures with the cleaning and preparation of the shepherds hut.
When we arrived (following Sally's excellent instructions), we found the shepherds hut to be immaculately clean and were welcomed with tea, milk in the fridge and delicious welsh cakes (now a great favourite of my husbands!). There was a vase of seasonal flowers and other lovely touches such as books of the local area and even some water colour paints. Towels and bedlinen are provided and the bed is incredibly comfortable. Outside is there is a BBQ area, picnic bench and lovely fire pit with logs ready in the basket.
The chickens are truly free range and happily wander around! There are cows, a horse and a Shetland pony and the farm dog Archie is always friendly and comes to greet you!
The Location is great with so much to do and see a short drive away.
Thank you Sally and Jim for the most wonderful and memorable time.

Simply beautiful
What can I say booked this as a night away for a wedding anniversary surprise for my wife as I wanted something different and What a lovely place this is, total privacy, peace and tranquility and the hut was a delight. Sally kindly accepted my request for 1 night as two nights is the minimum and was so friendly. Clean linen, towels ,logs for the burner just the perfect setup and definitely beats a stuffy hotel that’s for sure.

Perfect Romantic Break
This stay was perfect in every way! Perfect location, perfect setting, perfect facilities . We enjoyed every aspect of this getaway as the hut was ideal for two -very comfortable and with everything that was needed for a cosy stay. The surroundings added to the enjoyment with a fire pit, apple trees, chickens, beautiful horses to befriend and perfectly positioned picnic table that allowed for sunset viewing. The nearby Carew Castle is within walking distance and well worth a visit as is the watermill. Tenby and Saundersfoot, two popular locations, are a short drive away as are many other popular tourist haunts. Returning to the idyllic seclusion of the shepherd's hut for quiet evenings beneath summer skies made this break complete.

Delightful haven
A lovely shepherd's hut in tranquil and peaceful surroundings. Everything you need is provided...the owner's Sally and Jim were very welcoming and helpful but gave us the space we needed. Archie the family dog was a delight and the chickens and horses amusing. About a mile walk to the village pub where the food was very good but we enjoyed barbecuing as the weather was fabulous.
Within easy reach of the Pembrokeshire coastal path with it's stunning walks and scenery.
We had a lovely few days and would highly recommend.
Thankyou.

Cosy, relaxing, perfect 2nd week of honeymoon!
The Shepherds hut was a Perfect romantic getaway for our honeymoon, having already had a week in Mauritius we wanted a complete contrast, and a week in this place was exactly that! Walks around national trusts (lily ponds), sitting by the fire pit watching the stars, local amazing beaches (Barafundle, Broadhaven - didn't have our boards with us but some excellent Surf spots!), The cosy, modern, private and beautifully set hut had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. Sally and her husband were so welcoming, helpful and friendly. We had the best time! cant wait to visit again and we will definitely be recommending!

Perfect!
We stayed here for a weekend, arrived mid ‘Storm Brian’ to a warm welcome and the log burner already lit. The hut is lovely, very carefully thought out, supremely cosy and secluded. The hosts were helpful with knowledge on the local area, and the pub up the road does a brilliant Sunday lunch! I really can’t recommend this hut enough!

Country getaway
The best welcome and hospitality I've received anywhere! Shepherds Hut is the place to stay for an optionally relaxing-do-nothing or relaxing-do-stuff holiday. My boyfriend and I really needed somewhere to relax and unwind from our busy and stressful days, and being here definitely did that! Thanks again Sally, Jim and Archie😌😌

Known across the world for its legendary coastal scenery and protected by Britain’s only coastal National Park, Pembrokeshire is the perfect holiday destination. Golden sands backed by towering cliffs teeming with wildlife that are just as beautiful in summer was they are in winter.
Huge choice of award winning golden sandy beaches, central spot to reach so many of them. Head west to Barafundle again recently voted top 10 in the World, Freshwater West holds surf championships and always worth a visit, Cafe Mor is there through the summer (fab local 'street food'). Manorbier, Tenby and Saundersfoot are amongst the Blue flag awards winners and so many more magical spots to discover in between.
Getting around
There are many castles. Walk to Carew, an C11th Norman castle. Visit Pembroke where King Henry VII was born, Manorbier castle overlooking the beach, Llawhaden on the 'Landsker' line and many more.
There are many events on in the county. Films, plays and shows at The Torch Theatre, Milford Haven. Festivals like Tenby Blues, The Really Wild Festival in St Davids, Big Retreat Wales in Lawrenny. Pembrokeshire County Show, Easter Monday Point-to-Point horse races in Lydstep, Martletwy Agricultural Show. Iron Man Wales and The Long Course Weekend have made this a mecca for triathlon lovers.
