Peaceful comfort at Crabtree Barn. *Views: The views from the barn are spectacular whatever the season. *Location: Great for families, friends and couples to get away but also be within 30-40 mins of Leeds and Manchester. *Children: We are very baby and young child friendly with all the baby equipment here already and some toys for the little ones to enjoy too... *Living area: Extremely spacious and light open plan living area with a cosy Scandinvian Jotul wood burning stove to relax in front of. The lounge area has 2 comfortable sofas to sink into at the end of the day. There's also a flat screen TV with freesat and DVD. Across in the dining area, there's plenty of room for everyone to sit around and enjoy a meal around the table and you can enjoy cooking in the fully equipped kitchen ...Peaceful comfort at Crabtree Barn. Across in the dining area, there's plenty of room for everyone to sit around and enjoy a meal around the table and you can enjoy cooking in the fully equipped kitchen with island unit. The kitchen has electric hob, grill and oven plus separate microwave. There is a spacious fridge freezer and full size dishwasher - so no-one needs to do the dishes! Downstairs there are 2 spacious bedrooms. The first bedroom has a kingsize bed (en suite with shower bath and grohe shower over) with fabulous views over the valley and a lovely window seat to enjoy them from. The second bedroom is really spacious and can be made up as either full size twin beds or a 6ft (2 metre) super king bed (ensuite with spacious shower). We can also accommodate one child under 2 years old in our high quality Mamas and Papas wooden cot. Soft white linens and white fluffy towels are provided. Central heating and your first basket of kiln dried logs are included. Free Wifi (but please be aware we are in a country location and this is not super speed wifi!). The garden room (accessed externally) acts as a great second living space, great for families, with a further room 30 metre square room containing a full size table tennis table. There is also a washing machine and separate tumble dryer plus secure indoor storage space for bicycles in this room. The total private indoor space of the barn is a very spacious 150m2. Private garden at the side of the barn and barbecue for guest use. Parking for max 2 cars (due to narrow country lane there is not room for a caravan / motorhome / oversized vehicles). Great country for walking, cycling, birdwatching (near to Marsden Moor RSPB reserve) or just relaxing! Walking and cycling straight from the doorstep. Near to Ripponden, Slaithwaite, Marsden, Huddersfield and Halifax. Within an hour's drive for Haworth, Holmfirth, York, Harrogate, Manchester and Leeds. Sorry no pets. Booking info: Please note maximum occupancy is 4 adults and 1 child under 2 in a cot. Guest names need to be provided on booking, only those guests on the booking may stay and use the facilities at the barn for insurance purposes. Terms and conditions will be sent prior to booking being finalised. The minimum stay at the barn is 3 nights but can be up to 7 depending on the season. SORRY WE DO NOT TAKE PETS.More

Interaction with guests
We live very close by, so will be available to ensure that guests find Crabtree Barn (it is hidden away in the beautiful Blackburn Valley) and show them around the property. If we can not be around there is a key safe in which the key will be stored. We know the local area very well and can offer advice on places to eat, visit and how best to get there.

About the neighbourhood
Crabtree Barn sits on the border of Calderdale and Kirklees and just inside the Calderdale border. We are situated rurally in the parish of Ripponden and Barkisland tucked down a small wooded valley with great views across the valley and towards the hills of Ripponden and Hebden Bridge. Besides its dramatic moorland and valley scenery, crossed by numerous footpaths, and traditional stone buildings there is a wealth of exploring to do in town, village and country. Walks and cycle routes are straight from the door of the barn and on Marsden Moor National Trust area 5 minutes drive away, birdwatchers can find curlews, twites, lapwings and golden plover. Deer and spotted woodpeckers are seen at the barn itself. To the North just 10 minutes drive away, Ripponden hosts the annual Pork Pie f...
Getting around
As Crabtree Barn is rurally located and a distance from town centres we recommend travelling by car to and from us.
