Our traditional stone built croft house has been renovated to modern comfort standards to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The cottage retains some of its original features including exposed stone walls, the wood burning stove and low doorways but also incorporates new features such as oil central heating, a power shower, double glazing and Wi-Fi to make your stay more enjoyable and comfortable. You will notice that we have managed to recycle and up-cycle, the floor was originally a school gym floor as the coloured streaks reveal, the pew from a Glasgow Synagogue and the doors are made from extra floor boards. The house has parking for 3-4 cars, a small lawn to the front as well as an extended area with hidden paths and a picnic area to the side.

The cottage has 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin) and sleeps 4 comfortably but additional guests can be accommodated if required. We are happy to accept midweek booking but we would be looking for a minimum stay of 3 days. There is a shed adjacent to the cottage for storing bikes etc. and where you will find additional supplies of fire wood and coal.More

Spent 4 nights in this well equipped 2 bedroom cottage within walking distance to a beautiful beach and a short drive away from many more.
Thoroughly relaxing and comfortable stay. Would highly recommend.
Shawbost is a village by the shore. We have a beautiful beach on the doorstep and a lovely village to wander around. We have coastal walks, easy hill walks, beaches and golden eagles, and loads iof sheep.....
Getting around
Shawbost is an excelle t location for sightseeing and away from the hassle bussle of Stornoway. Shawbost has many nice walks and attractions within walking distance but a car is essential for getting to the main attractions of Callanish Stones, Arnol Blackhouse, Carlowayway Broch etc
