We would like you to stay in our Perigourdine traditional farmhouse in Dordogne and very close to the Charente department. Close by are idyllic towns and hamlets like Angoulleme, Aubeterre, Brantome,Riberac, Saint Sevarin,Verteillac, and Villebois-Lavalette with shops, restaurants, river beaches and many more exciting places to visit. Our exceptional property offers three acres of private land enhanced by large areas of lawn, surrounded by mature trees, orchards and terraced areas, making it perfect for outdoor living whilst appreciating the spectacular panoramic views of the valley and offering seclusion and tranquility with a large private swimming pool, ideal for those long hot sunny days. Our wonderful house is over two levels. The main living area consists of a large living room with period features, g and this is highlighted with a magnificent large fire place and log burner adding warmth for those beautiful magical winter nights central heating throughout. The large living room leads to the games room and gardens leading to the large swimming pool. The kitchen is well stocked and opens onto the courtyard and living room which makes it a perfect place for dining and entertaining day or night for that fantastic alfresco living. Washing machine, 2 fridge freezer gas hob and electric fan oven all to make life a little bit easier. This floor also has a double bedroom looking out onto the swimming pool and gardens, a games room and office. The 2nd floor has 3 bedrooms. There is a landing from all three bedrooms that lead onto the balcony with views of the gardens and swimming area, it also has seating to enjoy a coffee watching the sun rise or an aperatif on an evening. A large master bedroom with ensuite and views of the swimming pool and gardens. There is also a CD player and fans. There is a double bedroom which overlooks the courtyard. The twin bedroom has views of the pool and cots can be added to any room if required (On request) There is a large house bathroom with power shower and bath . All bedrooms have top quality bed linen and towels. From the Courtyard gate you can access the gardens and swimming pool where we provide inflatables, sunloungers, parasols and dining area.There is a BBQ and a Barrel BBQ poolside, there is also a decked area which provides shade next to the play area. Swimming pool area with sun loungers, parasols and large dining areas. The kitchen is fully stocked with electric oven and hob, washing machine, tumble dryer and 2 fridge freezers, large table and chairsfor eight. The Living room is great for playing games it has a large TV, d.v.d player and music center with a large selection of CD's, a large selection of DVDs and SKY TV. The games room has a pool table and fooze ball table and a selection of board games. On the second floor is a library with a huge selection of books and sofa should you prefer the shade of the house. This is an ideal property all year round with extensive outdoor living for those summer months, central heating and large indoor spaces for winter months. This property offers you the luxuriousness of a magnificent house set within the Dordogne countryside all designed for an unforgettable French holiday. Interaction with guests:

We greet all renters on arrival to welcome you to our home and some local information. We also personally say goodbye and thank our guests for staying. We do live on site with our two huskies, our cat and ornamental chickens but the house, gardens and pool area are totally private to the renter and you will never hear or see us, only if you need us. Otherwise sit back, relax and enjoy Chez Desier!

Riberac is in the Drone valley of northern Dordogne. It hosts one of the largest markets in the Perigord on a Friday which brings visitors and sellers from afar, and boasts an array of quaint cafes and bars. Lake Jamaye in the Double Forest is close by, here can be found water sports, fishing, swimming areas, beach, cafes and associated activities. Aubetterre Sur Dronne a spectacular hilltop medieval village is near here, with restaurants, bars and shops. The River Dronne which it overlooks has a beach with canoes and bicycles for hire. The region is well known for its antiquities, art, Romanesque architecture and of course its cuisine. In addition to the wine and cognac, foods include fois gras, walnuts, truffles, pates and cheeses. There are many attractive markets in the area which supply the local businesses.

We are a rural and peaceful location so a car is necessary. We do provide four mountain bikes to be used. A car is recommended to see sights, and Friday mornings there is a large market in the village of Riberac which is approx. 20 min drive.
