About the neighbourhood
Los Gigantes lies in the west of Tenerife coast road and has about 3 000 inhabitants, the city is part of the municipality of Santiago del Teide.
This once small, sleepy fishing village has evolved over the last few years to a relatively popular tourist resort and offers many sports and leisure opportunities.
It is up to the second highest cliff in Europe, the 'Acantilados de Los Gigantes', so called Cliffs of the Giants and takes its name. The rocks and cliffs of black volcanic rock fall up to 450 feet vertically into the Atlantic, offering a fascinating view.
Below the cliff is a small newly created beach called 'Playa de los Guios' with black sand, which is only about 5 minutes on foot. But the sea offers its visitors a true adventure.
