Morton House Masham and The Stable Block Masham together comprises is a grade II listed stone farmhouse and 18th century Stable Block located just off the market square in the picturesque market town of Masham. The accommodation is within easy walking distance of all amenities, pubs, shops and of course Masham’s famous breweries – The Black Sheep and Theakstons. The Owners offer one free brewery tour ticket, admitting one person with each group booking.

The house has been completely refurbished with your comfort in mind and without losing any of the charm of the old building. The property can sleep up to 14 people comfortably and a further 2 can be accommodated on roll away beds.

Morton House - On the ground floor of Morton House you will find a formal reception room with inglenook fireplace and leather chesterfield sofas. The TV/sitting room is furnished with comfy sofas and has the full sky package on the flat screen TV and games console/DVD player with a wood burner stove to keep you warm in the cooler months. The Kitchen/diner has a Belling range style gas stove with 7 rings and two ovens, dishwasher, microwave and everything you would expect to find in a family kitchen. About the neighbourhood
Masham boasts the largest Market square the north and hosts many special events through out the year - the most famous being the Masham Sheep Fair in September and the Steam Engine Traction Rally in July. Other events include bonfire night in November and various beer festivals during the summer months. There are many gardens and stately homes to visit in the surrounding areas, seasonal outdoor theatre, concerts in the local town hall, local artisan classes etc, etc, etc ...
Getting around
Masham is located in the Yorkshire Dales. We have a bus service through the town which links through to Leeds and Northallerton but a car is recommended to get to the off the beaten track places. If you are only coming for a weekend all the delights of the town are on the doorstep so a car is not necessary. You can arrive by train to Thirsk or Northallerton stations and we can help you arrange a taxi to the property. We have also had a number of guests arrive by bicycle!!

Getting to Masham - driving we are about 10 mins from the A1/M and a car is recommended to best discover the jewels of the Dales. Our closest airports are Newcastle, Leeds Bradford, Durham Teeside and Doncaster which are all within a one hour radius. Train wise Thirsk/ and Northallerton are closest to us though York is only an hour away and 2 hours from London. Taxis are readily available at all train stations but it is advised to pre-book if possible. Pick up from airports and train stations can be available with prior arrangement.

Ideally located for the dales, Lightwater Valley theme park, pony treking, clay pigeon shooting, 4X4 activities, Aerial Extreme ... 1 hr from York or Leeds, 45 mins to Harrogate and about 1 1/2 hrs to Whitby - or drive to Pickering and take the steam train!
