The Apartment is one of three gites. It's a tastefully presented, well appointed 1 bedroom stone built apartment with private terrace offering lovely views over the countryside. It's a perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy the peace and tranquility. It's situated 10 minutes away from the Dordogne Bastide town of Eymet with weekly markets, numerous bars and restaurants and less than 5 minutes the market town of Miramont-de-Guyenne in the Lot et Garonne. There's a small, but well stocked, supermarket in Eymet and a larger supermarket in Miramont de Guyenne for all your needs, plus all of the local shops and markets. The property is 30 minutes from Bergerac airport and about 90 minutes from Bordeaux airport, so it's a perfect base to explore the area and its many tourist attractions. Open plan ground floor living area with comfortable seating Dining table and chairs TV (UK free to view channels) Door leading to shower room / WC Arch leading to a well equipped kitchen with hob, combination microwave oven, toaster, fridge with freezer compartment and Nespresso coffee machine There's a log burner for the cooler weather Up the spiral staircase on the large mezzanine level you will find a very comfortable king-size bed with dressing table and hanging space. To the front of the property is a table with parasol and chairs to enable you to dine outside, along with a charcoal BBQ solely for your use. To the rear of the property is the heated 10x5m shared swimming pool with spacious travertine terrace, plenty of sun-loungers and parasols and lovely views over the countryside, if you're lucky it'll be sunflower season during your visit. Larger parties may of course also rent the 4 bedroom farmhouse and the 3 bedroom barn cottage next door, providing accommodation for 16 in total. About the neighbourhood
The region is generally considered to be the gastronomic centre of France. The area is renowned for its duck, foie gras, chestnuts and local farm produce and there are many excellent family run restaurants. Wine trails spread out in all directions offering the opportunity to visit Chateaux and buy direct. St. Emilion and Monbazillac are a short drive away and worthy of a visit. During the summer months many local villages hold fetes and 'soirée gourmandes' (live music accompanied by food and wine from the surrounding farms) - the closest is La Sauvetat du Dropt (2 km away).
