Holiday Rental House
Think Little Red Riding Hood's grandmothers cottage. The Engine House is a pretty romantic cottage on the North Shropshire/Welsh border with NO ELECTRICITY. There are lots of candles and wood available for the woodburning stove which heats the hot water for the big freestanding bath and central heating. A gas cooker inside and an iron fire pit outside is fun to bbq on, whilst the family run around the woods. Set in woodland, part of a private estate, with lakes and lots of outdoor space. Downstairs there is a spacious kitchen (gas cooker and gas cooler) with dining table and a hall area with a pedal powered pianola. What can I say, both a soulful candlelit idyll and a woodland adventure which begs one to let loose their inner 12 year old! We played board games by candlelight, cooked like cavemen on the fire pit, made dens, swung on homemade swings and even...More
