We often enjoy a drink with guests in our gazebo, depending on mutual availability and interest, but respect their privacy. We offer croissants delivered to your door the first morning, as well as neck and shoulder and foot massages on site by a qualified practitioner for a nominal amount. We strive for a personalised holiday tailored as much as possible to your unique wishes. Earlybird special Book early (before April 1) for 2018 and enjoy a discount of 45 pounds per week.

We booked La Chardiniere based on the previous reviews and we weren't disappointed. The Gite was just perfect for us, situated on the fringe of a very small village, yet close enough to hit most of the major site seeing missions of Normandy in around...More

Our detached guesthouse is ideal both for a romantic getaway for couples, a small family of three or for friends or siblings. It has been renovated in authentic Norman style with modern conveniences. There is a floor to ceiling sculptured chimney and woodburner in the lounge, a mezzanine overlooking it from the first floor bedroom. The kitchen which overlooks both the private terrace at the back and the drive at the front, is equipped with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave and washing machine. The bathroom has a large walkin shower.

We consider reduced rates for long term rentals (more than two weeks) and for short stays (less than one week). However, during July and August the minimum letting period is one week. Please let us know your thoughts, we are open to clients´ requests and preferences. If you are travelling around France, and prefer to arrive mid-week we are flexible, based on clients´individual needs. On reservation, 25 per cent of the total is due, with 75 per cent due two weeks before arrival. We also request 100 (euros or pounds) refundable damage deposit on arrival. We look forward to welcoming you.

About the neighbourhood
The quaint village shop, and French bar are just 300 meters from your cottage and areopen until 8 pm most days, except Wednesdays Sundayafternoons. Guests can pre-order morning croissants, baguettes and other pastries, and enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables, wine and cider and other supermarket products just a short walk away. There is also a Michelin star restaurant in the next village, Mont St Michel is just an hour away, Pegasus Bridge, the Bayeux Tapestry, DDay Landing Beaches, just over an hour away, as are water sports, hiking, rock climbing, amusement parks. Walkers can begin from the cottage to find nearby trails, with endless possibilities, visitors often find they need to come back again to finish exploring the area.
Getting around
As we are nestled behind a small French village, visitors do need a vehicle to get around. For travellers coming by air, there are plenty of reliable car rental agencies both at the airport, and at a nearby supermarket.

Airport: Dinard: 95.0 km
Ferry: Caen/Ouisterham: 115.0 km
We are located approximately one hour from the port of Caen/Ouisterham and an hour and a half from Cherbourg. Dinard airport (Ryanair) is approximately an hour and a half away, with airports at Deauville and Rennes about two hours from us. From Caen, take the motorway for Rennes, leaving at the Vire junction. Specific details and directions, and map references will be supplied at time of booking.
