Loro Ciuffenna, Province of Arezzo, Tuscany
A typical stone built Tuscan farm house in a wooded hillside setting, dating back to the 1800’s, where a particular breed of swallow, called Rondoni, flocks to the house to nest in its eaves, hence the name. At 500 metres high, “I Rondoni” is situated between Florence and Arezzo, enjoying breath-taking views of the Arno valley dotted with Chianti vineyards, olive trees, cypresses and picturesque villages.

A farmhouse for generations, I Rondoni has recently been restored to a high standard, retaining its rustic charm and authentic character. The house retains the original wooden roof beams and genuine old “cotto” floor tiles in several rooms. The traditional bread-making oven still works.

I Rondoni has a fully equipped kitchen with marble work tops, dining room seating up to 10 people, 3 double bedrooms, 2 family bathrooms, a further 2...

I wanted a rustic Tuscan countryside villa, and Il Rondoni delivered. The stone villa, on a mountainside of olive trees and vineyards, was spacious, very clean, with an amazing view. It is ideally situated to take day trips to the surrounding hilltop towns and wineries....More

The view from the villa is breathtaking! The authentic stone architecture and arched doorways and the terrace make you feel like you've arrived in heaven. The ancient, heavy doors and the stone stairway to the garden just add to the reality of being in Tuscany....More

About the neighbourhood
I Rondoni is just 2 kilometres above the picturesque mediaeval village of Loro Ciuffenna, a small, pretty village where you can find everything: post office, bank, pharmacy, food stores, restaurants, a pub, an antiques store, a museum, a flower shop and many more. One of the main attractions is the old water mill still in use to grind the chestnuts which grow plentifully in the area. Also the beautiful Pieve di Gropina, a mediaeval church which is rich in history and becomes a wonderful venue for summer events.

FIESTE (sagre paesane)
Loro Ciuffenna like its neighbouring villages have 'fieste' celebrating religious and rustic traditions, providing an excellent opportunity for visitors to mix with locals, sharing traditional dishes and wines.
Fieste are mainly in summer, from June...
