Unplug from technology and come to a beautiful hand built cottage perched upon a ledge. It has views of the Acadia Park mountains and the sail boat race course. Through a wooded path you will find a private beach for nature walks and collecting sea glass. There are 6 acres of surrounding property for exploration and another acre that is a wild bird sanctuary. Included in the rental is a John Deer Gator for tooting around the island as well as a good supply of bikes. The pool provides hours of entertainment for children and the tennis club offers free beginner and intermediate lessons. On a rainy day the house is filled with board games and books. And there is Internet access, if you need to work while the family plays. Interaction with guests
I am available during your stay in a small house somewhat removed from yours. I will give you a tour of the island on the first full day of your stay. I give my guests as much privacy as they want but I am also available for questions. The local lobsterman's phone number is provided so you can order fresh lobsters and there will be brochures for local events in your house.

About the neighbourhood
Gorgeous natural island with striking views and pebble beaches with sea glass. Cliffs on the back side of the island look out at open ocean, lobster boats and seals. Sail boats and canoes are available for rent and the local historical society has regular art shows, concerts and movies, most free of charge.
Getting around
On the island you will have the use of a John Deer Gator. It has 2 bucket seats in front and a little truck-like back. In the basement there are bicycles of many sizes for your riding pleasure. If you wish to see Acadia parks there is a ferry to the mainland and then a free bus that will drop you off at the park, Bar Harbor and a number of other interesting sights.
