Trullo -
3 Bedrooms , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 6
Martina Franca, Province of Taranto, Puglia
Trullo Pietro is a traditional rustic Puglian trullo that sits in a 10,000 square metre grove of olive, pine and fruit trees, with its own private 10 x 5 metre Infinity swimming pool.

The 5-cone trullo has been lovingly restored, keeping its original features and adding 3 comfortable bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, to give you a countryside Italian experience. The living areas and traditional kitchen all sit under beautiful natural stone trullo cones, as does the master bedroom. In the lounge is a traditional stone fireplace. The property is well equipped for a family holiday.

To the front of the property is another terrace, surrounded by statuesque pine trees. At the side there is an outside pizza oven and a smaller terrace overlooking the olive grove. At the back is a terrace with gazebo and the pool, equipped with sun loungers, umbrell...

I just can’t recommend this place enough. It’s perfectly placed near Martina Franca (which is fabulous!) it’s clean, tidy, comfortable, cool in the heat, well equipped and the pool is wonderful. You can do nothing (as we have!) or you can explore - we will...More

I came here with my boyfriend to escape busy London life and it was exactly I was hoping for! The trullo is beautiful and was immaculately presented when we arrived. We lazed by the pool for five of the seven days there, but could have...More

About the neighbourhood
Martina Franca is a hilltop town towards the Northern end of the Itria valley. The town itself has a beautiful centro storico with some impressive baroque architecture. The countryside surrounding the town is dotted with lush farmland, masserie and trulli.

Martina is known as the citta del festivale – city of festivals – and during the Summer months there are parades, celebrations and a rich cultural programme of art and opera. The festival of San Martino, the patron saint of Martina, is in early July and the whole town seems to turn out in the centro storico for the parade.
Getting around
Nearby towns:
From the trullo you are within easy driving distance of all the main attractions of the Itria valley, as far South as Brindisi and as far North as Bari. You can also make a longer day trip, or an overnight trip, down to the Salentine peninsula to visit Lecce, Gallipoli and the surrounding coasts.

Martina is in the hills in the centre of the region, so is about halfway between the two coastlines. We tend to prefer the Adriatic coast, which is about 40 minutes drive away, depending which bit you go to. The Ionian coast is beautiful much further South, once you can get away from the ugly port of Taranto, but getting here takes longer. The beaches near Salve are meant to be the best sandy beaches.
