At the foot of Mount Olympus, just by the sea of Thermaikos gulf, the Villa Platamonas awaits you all through the year to offer you unforgettable holidays.A beautiful villa that combines comfort with elegance and makes the most of its location in front of the Aegean sea. There are olives trees galore, figs, pomegranates, grapes and the full range of wild herbs. Feel free to help yourself! In the spring the wildflowers are breathtaking. Even the sun sets in precisely the right spot. The bay is perfect for both children and strong swimmers and, apart from June, July and August, you may well have the whole beach to yourselves. The village of Platamonas is walking distance from Villa Platamonas and is considered one of the most known tourist resorts of the region. There are many stores, cafes and restaurants. It is suitable for family vacations but is also the ideal place for those that seek intense nightlife. The numerous little taverns on the picturesque bays and the beach bars and night-clubs on the road along the coast will satisfy even the most demanding visitor. It also has a harbour where you can anchor your craft. The owners would be happy to give advice on the local area; point out the best places to eat and generally make sure that your holiday is as enjoyable as possible. They are always available on the phone to deal with any problems or questions. The villa is on 2 levels: Upper (1st floor) and Ground. The Upper and Ground levels are connected by a staircase. It is perfectly light and is nice and cool in the summer. Bedrooms 1-3 are on the Ground level. The 2 king size bedrooms have balconies leading out to the large patio area and the other single bedroom is opposite the large family bathroom. The single bedroom has one single bed and one Futon pull up bed with a Cocomat mattress. All bedrooms and upstairs have air conditioning, Cocomat beds and built in wardrobes and French windows overlooking the amazing views. The Upper level has a toilet, open plan kitchen, dining room and sitting room with 4 extra futon sofa beds that have Cocomat mattresses too. There is a massive terrace where one can enjoy moments of relaxation with the family or a barbecue with friends in a magical atmosphere. The big terrace and patio are the highlights of the property from where a panoramic view of the Aegean Sea, Mount Olympus and the Byzantine Castle can be enjoyed to the full!More

About the neighbourhood
SIGHTSEEING Olympus, the legendary mountain where the ancient Greek mythology was born. The residence of the 12 Gods, the countless demigods and heroes, the Nymphs and the Muses. It is the highest and most sacred mountain of Greece. On the border between Thessaly and Macedonia, with its highest peak, Mitikas (2,917 m), Olympus is famous not only for its mystic character, but also for its rare flora and fauna, small rivers, waterfalls, caves and forests, its peaks and steep rocky slopes, its monasteries and churches, its shelters and taverns. According to the Greek mythology, here, the twelve Gods defeated the Titans and established their reign. They fed on ambrosia and nectar, which certifies the excellent quality of local products (plants and wine). The thunderbolts of the mountain were ...
Getting around
A car is recommended as there is so much to do and see. Buses are unreliable and the taxi service is very busy and may take a long time to come.
