5 of us arrived Friday for a 2 night stay. Great location. With Hay castle behind it and being on the main street you can walk round and take in the different types of bookshops and other individual shops which are dotted around.

There is a one way system so as you enter Hay follow the main road and take the left to access Castle Street and the apartment. You access via the bookshop during the day rather than the solid door entrance.

Accommodation was lovely and the beds are very comfy. The log fire is welcome as the apartment can get quite chilly.

There is no dedicated parking space and you will have to use the local pay and display which only gives you a max of a 2 hour @ £1.50. After 6.00pm it is free but unless you are planning on an early start the following morning you will need to put a ticket on from 8.00am... A long stay car park is on Oxford Street but this only gives you 4 hours....

About the neighbourhood
Hay-on-Wye is a popular market town on the River Wye, sitting on the border between England and Wales, at the foot of The Black Mountains. Overlooked by the fascinating 11thc. Castle, the town has a wealth of interesting old buildings and the 'largest second-hand bookshop in the world' in the old cinema- one of the 30 major antiquarian bookshops, each with their own speciality.
