About the neighbourhood
The house is about 30 minutes drive from Saumur in an area that is peaceful and the pace of life slower. Local people are friendly and helpful and there is always time to sit in a local cafe or bar for a drink or bite to eat in the nearby towns of Vihiers and Doue La Fontaine. There are many local winemakers offering good quality wines at low prices. The Rose d'Anjou is a local speciality and is a great drink when fresh from the fridge on a hot summer's day. Summers are hot, with long days of cloudless skies, while winters tend to be cool and wet - not unlike an English winter only shorter! For those cooler days we have wood burning stoves in both the kitchen and living room to keep you cosy and warm.
The main towns and cities, such as Saumur and Angers offer lots of opportunities...
