About the neighbourhood
While the neighborhood is quiet, it is by no means remote! Several major bus lines are within a short walk of the cottage, and we have easy access to I-5 and Highway 99, Seattle's main north/south arterials. Walkers and cyclists will find the Interurban Trail just a few blocks away. Shopping, parks, a city pool and library are within 2 miles, and a variety of reasonably priced restaurants are scattered nearby, offering ethnic foods, from Middle Eastern to Vietnamese to classic burgers and Thai. A variety of national chains is also available if you have a craving.
Getting around
The cottage offers ample free parking, on the driveway and the street in front. A car is needed if you want to explore the around the sound and mountains. It also makes travel to and from the airport much easier. Public transit is not a good option for early morning or late night flights, or if you are hauling lots of luggage. Several bus lines, including the 'E' Rapid Ride, are within a quarter mile of the cottage. You'll find the link for trip planning if you search for Metro King County Trip Planner. Choose the government listing that starts with metro.kingcounty and you'll be given options for desktop or mobile access.
