About the neighbourhood
Quite residential neighborhood with very friendly neighbors. The neighborhood is hilly and great for getting a bit of exercise. There is a park nearby with a basketball court and playground for the little ones. About 1/2 mile up the street is a Sprouts grocery store, pizza place, neighborhood bar with food, a couple of 'fast food' but authentic Mexican places and a Starbucks. It's walkable if you don't mind a bit of a hill. Within a couple miles are other restaurants including sushi, seafood, a hip bistro and an elegant Italian place, among others,
In Southern California it's best to have a car, especially if you want to see all the sights, which are spread out through San Diego County. There are buses that come to the area, and there's a trolley not far that you can take downtown. (free parking at the Old Town station.) Also from there you can take the Coaster or Amtrak(train) up the coast to Solana Beach and Carlsbad/Oceanside, or even up to Anaheim (Disneyland) and Los Angeles.
