We stayed for 3 nights over Christmas. The cabin was very well stocked and we probbaly would have been fine not bringing as much as we did! Everything I needed to cook with was available, the decor reminded me of traveling during my childhood, and we loved the property location. This was our first time in this part of WV, and we will definitely be back!

Our family drove from South Carolina for the snow, and we were lucky enough to get around a foot while we were there. We skied, sledded, cross-country skied, hiked, and visited caves. The trip was amazing and we loved the cabin, it was perfect. The fireplace is incredible and kept us so warm. Michael was great to communicate with! Pretty amazing sitting in the hot tub while it’s snowing out. Thank you for a comfortable home filled with everything we needed!

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend at this beautiful house backing up against the Dolly Sods wilderness. The house had everything you could ask for in terms of cooking implements, a fantastic sound system and very comfortable beds. Between the hiking, the three inches of snow that fell on our second day there and the stargazing from the hot tub, this was truly one of the best weekend escapes ever.

We had a wonderful stay at Highland Rest! Great location and wonderful & well appointed home. We had an 8 pt buck greet us when we first arrived! The owner was super communicative. There was a snafu that he was on top of and made all right with us in the end. No problem, no hassle! The gated community was wonderful and because of the position of the homes privacy was not an issue. So many trails within the community and wildlife galore without leaving! The views and sunset were amazing! Just what we needed! Thank you Jim! We want to come back again!!

We enjoyed our stay at this two-bedroom property very much. The appliances in the kitchen were in perfect order and we used the chairs, table, and grill on the deck a few times for drinks or cookouts. The beds were comfortable and the sound system superb. We moved some of the many knick-knacks to make room for our own stuff and had ample space afterwards. The house even has some Purple Lizard maps to help plan hikes!

Absolutely perfect. Watched the all star game, hiked and hottubbed. Very private. Great access to Dolly Sods. Timberline Lakes were an added bonus.
