Sol du Mazel; is made up of two interconnected gites Rose Barn (3 bedrooms) and Hope Cottage (2 bedrooms).they both have wonderful open-plan living areas occupying both ground floors. The well equipped kitchens will have everything you need. Though there are comfortable sofas inside, most people sit under one or other of the two abri to relax and dine outdoors. Sol du Mazel is situated in a most beautiful, quiet rural setting, yet it is close enough to the village to take a morning stroll down the age old footpath to the local boulangerie for fresh croissants.Nestled in 4 acres of its own land it overlook a walnut orchard and wild flower and grass meadow. On the other side of the valley the woods are the home to deer and wild boars which can often be seen at dawn if you manage to get up that early. Rest and relax by the gorgeous 12 x 5 m swimming pool (heated from May through to September). Watch the children play on the trampoline or the climbing frame while the grown-ups might build up the energy to read a book in a hammock. Later enjoy a barbecue outside sitting under the shade of the abri, or perhaps visit the gourmet restaurant in the village (remember to book). Though it is not yet confirmed whether it will go ahead in 2020, in previous years, from the end of June to the end of August every Saturday evening the village square and road is taken over by the ‘Marché Gourmand Nocturne’ which can best be described as a street party where everyone is welcome and all sorts of food and drink are available to enjoy. Rose Barn is every bit as good as everyone says. As we approached for the first time, our 9-year old said ‘what’s that park?’ And indeed, the grounds look like nothing so much as a grassy children’s park, scattered with climbing frames and slides, and...More
