About the neighbourhood
The house is 2 1/2 miles west up a well maintained dirt road from the center of the village of Pittsfield, VT. The road is lined with many full time residents but, because the house is in the middle of its own 70 acre parcel and next to the Green Mountain National Forest, you will have a sense of privacy that is very hard to find this close to civilization. But neighbors, though out of sight, are just a short walk down the road. Hiking, snowshoeing, and VAST snowmobiling trails (http://vtvast.org/VAST.html) are just out the door and the village has dining, light shopping, post office and gasoline as well as a beautiful town green and gazebo.
