Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Perfect Impressions
This was a birthday treat from my wife and as we are both fans of Vincent Van Gogh she booked us for a week at La Glycine. Auvers-sur-Oise is where he spent the last weeks of his life and was a popular spot for many other renowned Impressionist painters. It is no more than 14 miles from central Paris, another bonus, and the station is just a stroll away. A return to Gare du Nord was just £9 and the trains frequent and really classy. La Glycine is close to the Chateau and overlooks the village/small town and is a delightful stroll down to the bars and restaurants and shops through winding cobbled streets. For those interested in painting, there is almost a plethora of sites of interest where the likes of Daubigny, Seurat and Cezanne worked and stayed. Although in the depths of winter, many of the exhibitions and attractions were open ( though sadly not the Absinthe Museum!) and there are a more than generous number of restaurants ranging from Indian and Thai/Chinese to Moroccan and classic French. We mostly cooked at home, and the range of facilities and equipment was almost mind-boggling down to three types of coffee makers! I cannot stress how welcoming and helpful and pleasant we found the owners Nicole and Allain. There was off-lane parking and a wonderful enclosed and exclusive garden at the back for my wife to have a quick fag. We had been a bit concerned that it was a studio-type accommodation, but need not have been. A very large room with a wide and comfortable bed, together with dining and sitting and kitchen areas. The bathroom had a great shower and the whole place was warm as toast, right down to the heated towel rails. The location was superb, because as well as a memorable day in Paris it was only an hour or so to visit Monet's water gardens at Giverny. Had we had the time, a trip to Versailles was only a couple of hours by road. The nearby big-ish town of Pontoise (17k pop.) was one of the smartest and somehow welcoming we have visited, with again all sorts of sites of interests, and the river running though the town and Auvers made for a delightful walk or cycle alongside. On my birthday Nicole made me a cake, and also a delicious apple tarte later in the week. As I said, the couple could not have been more helpful with information and assistance when needed. I have been writing articles and books about the regions of France for thirty years, and can honestly say the combination of location, facilities, attractions and hosts made for one of the best short breaks we have had. If it were possible, I would rate La Glycine and Allain and Nicole with a whole firmament of stars.
