Felin Fawr Cottage is situated in a tranquil valley, alongside a millstream, sheltered from prevailing SW winds and with a garden pathway that leads directly onto the storm beach at Aberbach. The cottage was converted from a barn which was part of a smallholding of 7 acres together with a water-mill which is now also converted into the owner's accommodation. The mill and cottage date from the early 1600's. The name 'Felin Fawr' means 'Great Mill' With its original features, pine furniture and slate floors, Felin Fawr is a very welcoming cottage suitable for a holiday at any time of year. The ground floor offers a fully fitted kitchen/diner with a Rayburn, utility room with microwave oven, fridge/freezer and washing/drying machine and a shower room with basin and toilet. The ground floor offers a fully fitted kitchen/diner with a Rayburn, utility room with microwave oven, fridge/freezer and washing/drying machine and a shower room with basin and toilet. There is a comfortable living room with two settees, wood-burning stove, TV (Freeview Sky) and DVD. French doors lead you to a patio alongside the stream, a lawn and small orchard. The ground floor double bedroom looks towards the orchard and the courtyard. An open plan staircase leads to the first floor where you will find a second double bedroom and a third bedroom with twin beds. Well–behaved pets are welcome. The garden is not fenced off from the grounds as a whole but there is a running leash for owners who wish to leave a dog outside but restrained. Explore the 7 acres of lawns; woodland, water meadow and the small river leading to Aberbach beach- just 5 minutes’ walk through the garden shared with the owners who live in the original Millhouse adjacent to the cottage. There is direct access to the Pembrokeshire Coastal path from the beach with a local shuttle bus (seasonal) returning you to the valley, ideal for walkers. Abermawr beach is also just 5 minutes walk away and is a popular surfing beach at mid to low tide with westerly swells. There is an additional charge for oil and electricity which is metered and charged according to use. We also supply logs for the wood burner at £3.00 a basket. More

About the neighbourhood
Felin Fawr is situated within a few hundred metres of the twin beaches of Aberbach and Abermawr and there is direct access to the Pembrokeshire National Park Coastpath which leads to the high ground of the Pencaer headland to the North and from there to Strumble Head. To the South the coast path crosses a number of beaches and small coastal villages, Abercastle, Trevine, Porthgain and Abereiddy ,site of the famous Blue Lagoon from where the Red Bull cliff diving competition has been run in previous years. The Aberbach valley is rich in wildlife. Fishguard is 10 minutes drive away and St Davids 22 minutes drive.
Getting around
Felin Fawr is right on the coast and local pubs, restaurants and shops can easily be reached by car. There are a number of good eating places within 15 minutes drive at Porthgain, Mathry and Fishguard. St Davids ( 25 minutes drive) has many more. A shuttle bus service (The Strumble Shuttle) runs from St Davids to Fishguard and back from April through the summer with a limited winter service. It can be boarded at half a mile from the cottage.
