Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.

Two Wonderful Weeks in Cae Grugog Cottage
I had two wonderful weeks from end of September until 12th October staying in this wonderful cottage. First of all, the accomodation is superbly fitted out with everything you would need for a stay away from home. All the rooms are an excelent size and the beds were really comfortable. Cae Grugog Cottage is in an ideal location for getting around the Island and Trearddur Bay is my favourite place to stay whenever I visit. The cottage was very well presented and so lovely and clean. the gardens were esecially a firm favourite of mine, each morning I would watch the magpies on the front lawn. On sunny days it was so nice to sit out in the garden. I would highly recommennd Cae Grugog Cottage to anyone visiting Anglesey.

Brilliant stay
Beautiful bungalow, plenty of space inside & out, very dog friendly, secure garden. Had absolutely everything we needed, little issue with no signal on the TV, sorted within hours , no problems 😊 Short distance to town centre . We loved it and would definitely stay there again, beds comfortable- no complaints at all 👍👍👍

Great location, outside space - lots of potential
This property is at a great location base for days out, minutes from the beach for the dog and the enclosed quiet garden is lovely. Kitchen good overall (maybe remove the coffee pod machine if no pods are supplied?). Good long driveway with turning area and check in using the keysafe was easy. Had a few issues over the first night/days such as power tripping, flickering lights, upstairs shower head not working, loss of basic wifi (frustrating as never worked for streaming, wifi for phone etc). NB the tv is not a smart tv & upstairs tv is a basic old freeview type set, so if the wifi isnt working, no coverage of channels. As we were having days out, we wanted to just chill & relax at night with a film etc but unfortunately not an option :(. Newer router system is needed as other properties around the bay we stayed at were fine. We did highlight the state of the cable spaghetti system behind the tv/dvd/speakers/routers etc which looked a little too much for the two wall sockets. I suspect lots of the equipment could be removed as not needed (large floor speakers/old dvd player/funny older router type thing/computer connectivity). Just needs tidying up and making safer really. Property folder - some updating is needed to include power outages, better recycling instructions including dog waste, clearer instructions overall. The large separate dining room has potential to be another bedroom or maybe make the lounge lots bigger with better sofas and updated larger tv. Lots of books/games available which was nice. We tended to use the other dining table which is nearer the kitchen. Downstairs bed sheets need to be larger as too small. The representative from Sandown was attentive and helped locating the power box to sort out the trip (needs a location sign & mention in folder for future guests) and arranging for the plumber to change the shower head. We did have an extra day added on which was good. We would potentially visit again, if the changes/updating is done. Would recommend it but warn people about the lack of wifi coverage.

Good for family fun
Impressed that owner had invested since last year - replaced all older windows with modern double glazed, redecorated throughout. Well furnished, cozy beds, efficient hot water & heating, sizeable rear garden secure for children & dog, all make this house nearly perfect. Search out the easy walk away from main road to beach/ promenade/ playground via The Rise cul de sac. Don’t miss the hidden gems of Breakwater Country Park and Penrhos Coast Park either side of Holyhead.

Idyllic
Situated on the way into Trearddur Bay, on the left, the cottage is a stone's throw from the main beach. It's uphill coming back, but a shortcut through the football area is easier! There's a downstairs bathroom & double bedroom, so you could live downstairs if there are only 2 of you & you don't require the shower upstairs! There's a side sea view over the rooftops from the upstairs main bedroom window. The cottage is absolutely fully equipped with easy to work appliances, which believe me is a very welcome & useful element! There are plenty of outdoor chairs & cushions & the big back garden is completely secure for dogs. Just watch the small step down into the kitchen area, when you first arrive & the mat well at the front door; unless it has been heightened or removed. The sofas are very low,& at my age, difficult to get out of! However, I would certainly recommend this lovely cottage. It is very private & secluded from the quiet neighbours.

Great Cottage
Lovely cottage, excellent location and secure garden which was a great size for our dog. Beach is a short walk down the road where you will find a small Spar supermarket and restaurants - Sea Shanty (also has an ice cream parlour), Inn at the Trearrdur Bay and Ocean's View. Choice of meals great and value for money. Reason for marking 4 star is the decor is a bit tired looking and the living room needed a bit of a clean - dust and paintwork. That's us being us being picky. Had a minor problem which was sorted quickly by Sandown Property Lettings. All in all had a great time, weather was good and would stay at this cottage again.

Lovely family cottage
Lovely cottage, nice and spacious in and outside. Couple of small issues while there but the agent and owner couldn't have been more helpful. Stayed as a family of 2 adults and a 2 year old. She loved the space to run around and play. No toys there so take your own. Plenty of games for adults to play like Scrabble. 10 min walk to the beach, shops and 2 very nice places to eat, Sea Shanty and Black Seal.

Amazing property in awesome location
Pet-friendly property, well equipped, comfortable and really close to the sea. Less than a 10min walk to the beach. Amazing location close to all the amenities that you could need. Sea Shanty an absolute must to visit for ice cream. Enclosed garden meant our westies could play out on their own. Really impressed with the booking process and communication. Would highly recommend this property and hope to return again soon.
