Charming 5 Bedroom 17th Century Farmhouse with Sea Views on Private Rural Estate

1 of 25
Overview
Holiday Rental House -
5 Bedrooms , 3 Bathrooms , Sleeps 10
Pwllheli, Gwynedd, North Wales, Wales
Glasfryn Fawr is a much loved 17th Century Farmhouse set on the private Glasfryn Estate looking towards Cardigan Bay. With large lawned gardens and a private lake you are surrounded by woodlands with views across the delightful Llyn Peninsula. The Glasfryn Estate was the home of Clough Williams-Ellis whose quirky Italianate village of Portmeirion is only short drive away. Although very secluded we are ideally located to visit the delightful towns of Abersoch, Criccieth, Llanbedrog and of course the 84 mile Llyn Coastal Path. The nearest beach is only a 7 minute drive. With 4 Bedrooms upstairs and a further Bedroom on the ground floor, Glasfryn Fawr is perfect for an all ages holiday.

The large landscaped gardens are delightful at all times of year and are perfect for children to kick a ball around or for the adults to snooze with a book....

About the neighbourhood
This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and our lovely home is the ideal base for exploring the mountains and beaches of Snowdonia. The quirky Italiante Village of Portmeirion (which was designed by my relative - Clough Williams-Ellis) is a short drive away. The Prisoner was filmed there in 1967 and today there are plenty of shops of cafes to suit all tastes. We recommend a walk in the Gwylt (the woodlands in Portmeirion) for the views towards Borth y Gest, and, of course, playing in the sands.

The Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway line has now opened between Porthmadog and Caernarfon. Mount Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales and England – you can either walk or take the little train to the summit.
