The Old Cottage is one of a pair of recently renovated farm buildings next to a former farm house (the owners home), at the end of a private drive, enjoying views towards Moel Fammau and the Clwydian hills. In a rural location, but close to major road networks, we are approximately 1 mile from the centre of Mold, half an hour from Chester, 40 minutes from Liverpool and 1 hour or so from Manchester and the Snowdonia National Park. Mold, a busy market town, has a good range of shops, cafes and a number of excellent restaurants, a street market twice weekly and a highly regarded theatre. The Old Cottage is an ideal base for people who enjoy the great outdoors. The Clwydian range offers wonderful walking opportunities for all abilities, in particular the Offas Dyke waymarked path; the nearby Llandegla forest has excellent mountain bike trails and the seaside is half an hour away. The advantage of North East Wales is that there is still plenty to do if the weather is not so good. Step into the past at a country house such as Erddig or Plas Teg, or at one of the many castles in the area, or explore the historic walled city of Chester with its famous black and white buildings and covered rows, or go shopping in Liverpool and visit its excellent museums and art galleries. The cottage is decorated and furnished to a high standard, with two large bedrooms (one with a king bed, one with a double). A cot is available on request. The bathroom has a roll top bath and electric shower. Downstairs, the open plan sitting room has a log burning stove and the modern kitchen is equipped with oven, hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, coffee machine and washing machine. The cottage has wifi. All bed linen and towels are supplied. Outside there is a small rear utility area and large gardens to the side and front of the property with a barbecue, small swing and climbing frame and lovely views. Garden toys are available for small children. There is plenty of parking space. If you need any further information please do not hesitate to contact us. Need more space? Have a look at the sister property, The Old Stable, next door which sleeps six.More

We are sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your stay in our cottage. You didn’t report that there was a smell from the boiler until 11.40pm, despite arriving mid afternoon, and so I didn’t see the message until the following day. As soon as...More

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this picture perfect cottage set in great surroundings. A stone's throw from Mold which suited me. The only 'glitch' was the awkward turn out into the main road.
