The Roman Road, which passes above Rowen, runs close to many sites of historical interest, including the Maen-y-Bardd, a megalithic burial chamber that dates back to 3,500BC. It is set high on a hill and offers some spectacular views along the valley. A little further along you will find more standing stones at Bwlch y Ddeufaen. Nearby is Conwy, a World Heritage Site, which boasts an imposing castle and near-complete Roman walls. In addition, there is a fishing harbour and Plas Mawr, which is one of the best preserved medieval town houses in the country. In addition to a variety of National trust properties, there are also stunning beaches, the internationally-acclaimed Bodnant Gardens, Victorian Llandudno and the village of Betws-y-Coed.More
