We had the opportunity to go back to Memphis while my wife attended a national convention related to her job and wanted to stay with Cheryl again in her comfortable and perfectly located carriage house. The neighborhood is a beautiful historic area with stately homes...More

About the neighbourhood
This charming and unique Midtown carriage house is located behind a Georgian Revival mansion on one of Memphis's most historic landscaped boulevards located in the heart of Central Gardens. The imaginatively decorated antique furnished cottage is quiet and secluded with the soothing sounds of a flowing fountain and pool just outside your bedroom window. The space has one private bedroom with a queen size bed and one full bath. There is a sofa and also an air mattress available for additional guests if desired. There is not a full kitchen but there is a dorm style refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hot plate, and a few of the essential kitchen comforts. The cottage has a spacious main room with a writing desk, easy chair w/ stool, and terrific shelves and cabinets, and a small library. It makes a perfect private office for the business traveler, a splendid space for preparing for a day visiting Memphis, or simply a lovely secluded spot for relaxing with a beverage, snack, and good read beside the large garden and pool. We endeavor to provide all the comforts of home including a kitchenette, bathroom essentials including hair dryer, ironing necessities, cable tv, wireless internet, ample space for suitcases and belongings, and picnic area. Guests have secure gated off street parking. A washer and dryer are available during the day inside the main house where we also have a copier and fax machine. We have stocked the space with local magazines, brochures, and menus to make planning your day more enjoyable. Guests are greeted and checked in and all questions can be answered. I am available by phone, text, and email and I have a business partner who is also available. Belvedere means 'Beautiful View' in Italian, and this stately street in Memphis is indeed a beauty. The street was modeled after the wide boulevards of Paris and Rome and was laid out in the early 1900's. Memphis was booming, fueled by trading wood and cotton along the Mississippi. by the 1930's, Belvedere Boulevard was Memphis' premier address - it's graceful side of this sometimes rowdy city. The street through a Tennessee hardwood forest, and the landscaping on the central median and around the private homes is lush and green. The Midtown area is filled with the cities best and most diverse restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, shopping, nightlife, parks, jogging/biking trails, arts and entertainment. Rental car services are plentiful and can be found in our neighborhood as well as the airport. There is citywide bus service which stops to pick you up down the block and connect to our downtown and all other areas of the city. Taxis are abundant and reasonable.
