Cameron House offers bright spacious accommodation, perfect for larger families, groups of friends or golfers looking for accommodation that houses everybody under the one roof. We are within 30 miles of over 50 golf courses, so ideally located for the golfing enthusiasts. Gleneagles, St Andrews, Edinburgh, Dundee, Perth, Fife and Central Scotland are all within 30 minutes to an hour and a half drive from Cameron House taking you through some of the most beautiful and diverse countryside in Scotland. The closest historical buildings include Balvaird Castle, which is a particularly fine and complete example of a traditional late medieval Scottish tower house, built around the year 1500 and Falkland Palace, which is a superb tourist attraction and well worth a visit. Both these attractions are no more than 3 miles away. Also, sitting on an island within Loch Leven, is the beautifully set Lochleven Castle which played host to the captive Mary Queen of Scots before fleeing to England. The castle is easily accessible by a regular boat service that only takes 10 minutes. Loch Leven is also the location of a heritage trail that runs 12.5 km round the north side Scotland's largest lowland loch. The trail provides excellent access to the lochside for walkers, cyclists and wheelchair users. Well behaved pets are more than welcome and there are great walks from the back of the property onto The Howe Of Fife and to the Lomond Hills just above Falkland. About the neighbourhood
Located 7 miles west of Cupar, and 4 miles south of Newburgh, Auchtermuchty was famed in ancient times for its wild boar and was once the site of a Roman camp. Its name however comes from Gaelic, referring to the large population of wild boar in the surrounding swamps and woods that were hunted. Today the streets have an olde-worlde feel, with thatched roofs, crow-stepped gables and the red pantile roofs characteristic of the towns and villages throughout Fife.
