About the neighbourhood
Kirriemuir is a beautiful town and is nicknamed 'The wee red toon' due to the buildings being made from red sand stone. Kirriemuir has its special claim to fame, in that it was the birthplace of J.M.Barrie the author of Peter Pan. The statue of Peter Pan stands proudly in the town centre and J.M. Barrie's birthplace can be visited within the town. We are also very proud to claim the famous rocker Bon Scott from ACDC as one of our own. Born in Kirriemuir. His statue which was erected in 2016 is also a highlight of our town. Kirriemuir has shops, pubs and cafes within the town. Kirriemuir is also known as the gateway to the Glen's. You are surrounded by the beautiful, Glen Clova, Glen doll, Glen isla and Glen prosen. Perfect for sightseeing.
Getting around
We have hourly buses to and from Dundee (the nearest city) and from Dundee you can get a bus or train throughout Scotland. Taxis are available in Kirriemuir if required. Getting about by car would be much more convenient and would ensure that you don't miss out on the scenery of the Glen's which can only be accessed by car.
How to get there
On the A90 dual carriage way heading from Dundee towards Aberdeen, take a left turning to Kirriemuir. You will pass a place called Maryton. Follow that road all the way, do not turn off and you will pass thrums vets on your right. We are at the end of that road at the T junction on your right. There are signs for Pathhead Equestrian Centre outside the farm.
