Ali and Sandy made us very welcome in their house. Our apartment was superbly fitted and the kitchen had everything we needed to self cater. The breakfasts they served up were delicious beyound words. A wonderful part of our honeymoon!
Set in a beautiful location within easy walking distance of idyllic little coves. The apartment was clean and very well equipped. Ali and Sandy were lovely, friendly hosts who did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable.
This location is remote to those used to town or city dwelling but that is what we wanted. Ali and her husband Sandy were very welcoming and a mine of local information. They run a farm so eggs and meat were readily available and of...More
Lovely people, great location, really nice place (slightly creaky) and we would certainly visit again.

Thoroughly lovely apartment, owners and position. Heaps of room, beautiful appointments and every window has a stunning view. Gorgeous walks and scenic colours. I wish we could have stayed longer.

We were given a warm welcome, and particularly appreciated Aly's thoughtfulness in booking a meal at the local hotel ahead of our late arrival as we were delayed in leaving Harris.

The village of Tolsta Chaolais is on the West side of the Isle of Lewis by the sea loch, Loch Roag, and across from the island of Bernera. We are close to the Calanais Stones and the Broch at Dun Carloway and not far from the Blackhouse village at Garenin. The ferry port and airport of Stornoway is half an hour's drive.
Our visitors are often interested in the wildlife and coastal scenery of this beautiful place and many come to explore the ancient monuments and buildings here.
