The cottage has a three star rating and sleeps four people. The cottage is a stone's throw from the sea and in an excellent spot for viewing seals, otters and seabirds. It is in Leebitton, Sandwick which is twelve miles from Lerwick. Car parking is right outside the front door. The shop/bakery/post office is around ¾ of a mile away. News of local events are posted on the shop door. Nearby is Sandwick’s modern swimming pool including steam room. A short walk takes you to the village of Hoswick where you can call along the Warp and Weft Visitor Centre to view the knitwear and local crafts before relaxing in the cafe over a cup of tea or a bowl of soup after your swim. Cosy cottage with unbelievable sea views.

Cottage is very nice and comfortable, with a well equipped galley kitchen. Double bedroom is a little small, but we used the spacious bunk bed room for clothes storage. From the front door you can see gannets and terns diving, and skuas trying to steal...More

Great location

My family really enjoyed our stay at the Roadside Cottage. The location is picture perfect and really convenient for travelling around Shetland. Everything you need is provided, even great coffee! You have seals, otters and porpoises, what more do you need? :-) Margaret kept in...More

Heaven on earth

Fantastic little cottage

Getting around
If you want to see the best of Shetland, you’ll need a car. There are high quality roads in Shetland and regular inter-island ferries to the isles of Bressay, Whalsay, Yell, Unst and Fetlar. If you need to hire a car, the local firms are: Bolts Car Hire and Star Rent-a-Car Information on Taxi operators and timetables for ferries, buses and inter-island flights are available on the ZETTRANS website. There are many boat tour operators as you get a spectacular view of the scenery and wildlife from the water.
