About the neighbourhood
If you have never been to Shaldon, you have missed a real treat. Situated on the South Devon coast across the Teign estuary and opposite the resort of Teignmouth, Shaldon is an unspoilt village with a thriving community. Many families in the village are still linked to the fishing industry and with a great range of local shops and attractions, it is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday. Shaldon is not as commercial as many of the South Devon towns, but is perfect if you want to experience real Devon life first hand.

A host of village amenities are also on the doorstep including the passenger ferry crossing to Teignmouth (said to be the oldest river crossing in England). Lovely walks lead along the Ringmore riverside, Shaldon beach in the opposite direction and the striking South West C...

Shaldon is perfectly accessible for year-round stays, offering easy access to the vibrant delights of Torquay, a20 minute drive away, the historic market town of Totnes and the Exeter, Plymouth and London train service (which runs from Teignmouth Train Station).
Shaldon is across the bridge from its larger brother, Teignmouth. Shaldon can be reached by car or bus on main roads from either Torquay or Teignmouth. The bus services are regular and run by two companies. From Torquay the drive is approximately 15-20 minutes. From Teignmouth a few minutes only.
Visitors often reach Shaldon by taking a train to Teignmouth. Teignmouth railway station is on the Exeter to Plymouth line, which is operated by First Great Western. The train continues onto Newton Abbot and crosses the Teign much furth...
