An outstanding cottage located on the outskirts of the County Mayo village of Ballycastle in the west of Ireland. Well-furnished throughout offering plenty of space and a glimpse of the sea, Downpatrick Head and the Dún Briste headland, this property is perfectly located and will make an excellent starting point for those looking to see what County Mayo has to offer. All set on the ground floor, there are three cosy bedrooms along with an open plan kitchen, dining and living area that makes it great for keeping everyone together while still letting everyone have their own space. The living area has an oil stove, perfect for snuggling up in front of while taking it easy after a day of exploring the local area. The living area has an oil stove, perfect for snuggling up in front of while taking it easy after a day of exploring the local area. Make use of the well-equipped kitchen which is great for preparing a mouth-watering meal for everyone to enjoy and why not take the plates out to the furnished patio and plan the next day’s adventure. To the front you have a good-sized enclosed lawn, great for letting the children out to run around while having the peace of mind that they are safe and also a table tennis table in the garage where a bit of friendly competition can decide who will be cooking next. Ballycastle is just down the road (400m) and will tend to all of your basic needs so if you fancy a pint with the locals you don’t have to worry about who is going to drive, so go ahead and have a well-earned drink and stroll home in the fresh Irish air. Why not take yourself to the local beach and catch a few rays? Further afield you have the likes of Ceide Fields which is surrounded by plenty of splendid sandy beaches where you can try your hand at surfing, golf and fishing. The Wild Atlantic Way is home to some truly spectacular scenery so take a drive along a stretch of it and take in as much as you can.More

About the neighbourhood
North Mayo is one of the undiscovered gems of the Wild Atlantic Way, and you will be thrilled with the scenery and peace and quiet. Check out the website of North Mayo and also Ballycastle for more details.
Getting around
You really need a car for a comfortable holiday here. There is a small grocery store within walking distance, and a couple of pubs and a coffee shop in the village of Ballycastle. For bigger shopping and a better choice of food outlets, I would suggest checking out Killala (14km) or Ballina (27km).
