Great spot for a quiet break. If like my boys you want watersports and fishing then enniscrone is only 25mins drive and if...

With trepidation we decided, for the first time, to try holiday rental. We went online and found "Dun Briste". It was in the perfect location for us to explore the north coast's of Mayo and west Sligo. And as we are both in our 70's. we were looking for an easy going time, such as beach and short forestry walks....

Management response:

Thanks Hugo for the very informative review. We loved having you both stay and look forward to seeing you back in North Mayo in the future.

About the neighbourhood
North Mayo is one of the undiscovered gems of the Wild Atlantic Way, and you will be thrilled with the scenery and peace and quiet. Check out the website of North Mayo and also Ballycastle for more details.
Getting around
You really need a car for a comfortable holiday here. There is a small grocery store within walking distance, and a couple of pubs and a coffee shop in the village of Ballycastle. For bigger shopping and a better choice of food outlets, I would suggest checking out Killala (14km) or Ballina (27km).
Car recommended
How to get there
Airport: Knock International Airport: 68.0 km
Railway: Ballina Train Station: 27.0 km

Public transport is very sparse in this part of Mayo. There is a daily Bus Eireann bus from Ballina.
There is parking for three or four car on the driveway, which is very secure.

Nearest Beach: 2.0 km.
