About the neighbourhood
Taigh Solas is situated in the beautiful village of Hacklete. The village is a traditional crofting village which boarders the stunning Loch Roag. There are fantastic walks in the area, including the 10 mile ‘Bosta Walk’ which goes from Vallasay, just next to Hacklete, along the coastline and through the grazings to Bosta Beach where the superb Iron Age House is situated.
Getting around
We recommend a car, but, there is a bus service which can take you to Bosta, Stornoway and other areas. The busses are not too frequent, but all times are avaiable on the Western Isles Council website. Biking is very popular in the Hebrides and there is ample room in the garage to store your bikes.
