1899 Inn: Victorian Manor in Historic Deadwood

Overview
Private Room , 5 Bathrooms , Sleeps 21
Deadwood, South Dakota
This historic Queen Anne house is one of the largest built by Deadwood's merchant class during the gold boom between 1876 and 1930. The home kept much of its original woodwork, light fixtures and stained glass. Over the past five years, it's been gradually updated with new plumbing, heating and air conditioning, along with features in some rooms like heated floors, antique decor and reproduction lighting. The 1899 Inn is a restoration-work-in-progress, so guests can expect some unpainted walls, missing trim, sticky doors, missing locks and a kitchen straight out of 1978. Guests who like historic properties and don't mind a little character will feel right at home here. While the house is run year-round as a bed and breakfast, the whole house is available for large group special events. We find it's a perfect place for grou... Read more

1899 Inn was my first stay at a Bed and Breakfast. I enjoyed it thoroughly, it was a home away from home, comfortable beds, food was outstanding, the inn was beautiful and the owners as nice as can be.

We could not have been more happy with our stay at the 1899 Inn. We had spent many summers in Deadwood when my grandparents lived there, so this house and location helped us to relive those special memories! The owners were so helpful and allowed...More

We had a family reunion and rented the whole manor. It was very charming and allowed us to all be together instead of a hotel. Dustin & Laura are great hosts. Great place to rent if you want to do your own thing with a...More

About the neighbourhood
The 1899 Inn is at the center of Deadwood's historic Presidential Neighborhood, and only a few minutes' walk from Main Street's casinos and saloons, the Adams Museum and the Mickelson Trail, a 114-mile-long rails-to-trails project for horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking and snowmobiling. The well-preserved Adams House is less than a block away, and the final resting place of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane at Mount Moriah Cemetery is just a quick hike to the top of our hill. You can catch the Deadwood Trolley, the city's main transportation system, at a stop less than 100 feet away.
