Welcome to Woodpecker's Barn, our delightful detached barn conversion built of natural Cornish stone with plenty of room for four. Located near the pretty village of St Keyne, it's just three miles from Liskeard and close to the well-known historic fishing ports of Looe, Polperro and Fowey. Our lovingly restored barn is situated on Killigorrick Farm in the Looe Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty renowned for its peace and tranquillity. It's perfect for exploring the charms of South Cornwall or for simply relaxing amongst glorious countryside close to the sea. The spacious ground floor double bedroom with 5' bed and lower ground floor twin bedroom both benefit from their own adjacent bathrooms. We can also provide a travel cot and highchair if you have a little one in tow, although cot linen is not provided. Outside, the large garden is a delightful spot to sit and relax in at any time of day with a sunny patio providing the perfect place for alfresco dining in peace and tranquillity. THE LAYOUT Ground floor: Spacious open plan living space with a high pitched ceiling, comprising a sitting area with a wood burning stove, a dining area and a modern fitted kitchen area. Large double bedroom with 5’ bed and high pitched ceiling with exposed rafters. Shower room. Lower ground floor: Spacious twin bedroom with an en suite bathroom with a shower attachment. An additional simple bed can be provided in this bedroom, if required. Choose from wildlife parks, adrenalin-packed activities, events galore, pristine beaches, countless walks and wonderful gardens at their freshest! Explore the beautiful coastline and wander round the picturesque historic fishing villages of Looe and Polperro. With lots of walking opportunities, enjoy a wonderful cliff-path walk along the South West Coast Path or the golden sands at Looe. There's easy access to Bodmin Moor, made famous by Daphne du Maurier’s Jamaica Inn, or feed your garden frenzy at the many wonderful houses and gardens including the Eden Project, Lanhydrock, Port Eliot and Lost Gardens of Heligan. The ancient market town of Liskeard is three miles away. Liskeard offers a selection of pubs, cafes, restaurants and individual shops, some retaining their attractive Victorian fronts and interiors, as well as major supermarkets, so all your needs will be met. There are quaint country pubs and restaurants nearby too, including The Plough in Duloe, a traditional Cornish pub serving good food 2 miles away. Our nearest shop is 1.5 miles. VISITORS' NOTES No smoking. Sorry, we don't accept pets here. Minimum stay 2 nights. Mobile phone reception can be patchy and really does depend on your provider. There is no internet at this cottage. Woodpecker's Barn is one of six holiday cottages we offer at Killigorrick Farm and is detached. It's in a very rural location accessed down a long winding farm lane off the road. A welcoming cream tea awaits your arrival. Check-in is after 4PM. Enjoy your stay, thank you!More
