Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Comfortable, warm, clean, self contained cabin with everything we needed including a laundry. Spectacular views over the valley & mountains, friendly resident goats & sheep, they're a laugh! Close proximity to surrounding towns and attractions. Nice meal at the local hotel. Wished we could've stayed longer to explore. Great value. Highly recommend a stay here!!

Cozy accomodation
Stayed here our last night in Tasmania since we were afraid of getting snowed in on Cradle Mountain. Booked at the last minute with no problem. Chose it primarily since it was right by Trowunna, where we had a tour scheduled for the next morning. Their arrival system is simple - we are given a code for the lock box that contains our key so it does not matter when we arrive. Our cabins were warm, comfortable, clean and cozy, just what we needed and spacious enough (we had two one-bedrooms, one for me & my husband, one for our boys). As an added bonus, in the morning we were woken up by a sheep bleeting under our window - we thought that was so cool!!

Home away from home
I stayed in the smallest cottage available at the "Holiday Village" and it was as comfortable and cosy as I could have wished. Warm in a Tasmanian winter, secluded but close enough to attractions to serve as a base of operations, surprisingly well stocked with bedding and a range of DVDs for cold nights. Booking was simple and whilst it's not a staffed location, gaining entry is no problem. During the week we were there they had an issue with a burst pipe but it did not affect us; nevertheless they hastened to make sure that we had no problems. Overall it's a no-frills experience and will be what you make of it. If you're just looking for somewhere you can cook, bathe and sleep while you explore Tasmania's mid-west, Mole Creek Holiday Village will meet your needs at a decent price.

Thank you for providing such a positive review of our property, we are very grateful. We do try to make sure that our guests have everything that they could need and provide warm and comfortable accommodation. Our self contained chalets are situated in a relaxing rural situation but with easy access to many attractions in the area and that makes them an ideal place to stay to tour the area. We hope that you will return to stay with us again some day.

Overcharged
We booked a cabin for four for two nights - paid five months in advance however my in-laws had to cancel due to ill health. Contacted owners and advise of change of plans with only two arriving and was told she would organise a refund for two less adults. On arrival reception was closed with keys in box the entire two days we were there we never saw owners - had the feeling they were avoiding us. - Accommodation was okay but customer contact poor - never again.

Firstly I'd like to apologise for my genuine mistake in overlooking your refund. I have already contacted you with regards to this and am unsure as to why you didn't contact me directly about this issue? We were definately not trying to avoid you, but like many self contained cottages we do not actually operate a reception at our accommodation, check-in and out is on a self service basis and hence we were not at the property. This information is stated clearly in our advertising, on our website and in our check-in procedures and policies. We do provide our contact numbers which are prominently displayed around the accommodation and we are always happy for people to call us with any requests.

good value
A little bit out of the way but on the way to everywhere. Great three bedroom cabin with everything we needed to self cater which is great when travelling with a family especially in a country area.

We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and are very happy that you found our accommodation provided everything that your family needed. One of the things we love about our property is its location, rural enough to be peaceful with spectacular views of The Great Western Tiers but central enough to be able to access the many attractions of this area. Relaxing, great views, nice grounds, good value
This place ideally suited our needs and was accurately depicted online. Our two bed cabin was a little dated (1980's tiles, etc) but nevertheless had a warm feel and inclusions were adequate. Excellent views towards Highlands and nice gardens to walk around. On the highway but high enough above the road not to be a problem. No owners or manager or staffed reception on site but no problem as instructions left for accessing key safe. Good value for money.

Cosy, comfy and great value for money.
Our wood lined cabin was warm, well appointed and absolutely spotless. Great views across farmlands to the Great Western Tiers. Central location for visiting the Trowunna Tasmanian Devil Centre, Allum Cliffs, the Mole Creek Caves and Devil's Gullet. We loved it.

Traveling with or without pets, you must try this place!
To all dog lovers and anybody traveling with dogs (or without pets): You must stay at Mole Creek Holiday village when visiting Tasmania. It's a wonderful place to tour Tasmania from with or without your favorite pet! We stayed at the holiday village for nearly three weeks, with our 2 years old bouncy and boisterous (and sometimes naughty) dog, and all of us loved the experience. The cottages are clean, well equipped, Tracy and her angel helpers made sure that we haven't missed anything. Bathroom, kitchen, rooms are really nice, charming and equipped with anything you would need for your comfort in both cold and warm weathers (heaters, extra blankets, air conditioning... and we just had to wish for anything extra and Tracy would fulfill our wishes immediately). We stayed in one of the cottages set aside for pet lovers, and our doggy could stay inside (which was amazing, most places would only allow dogs outside in kennels). The pet-lover cottage is set at the furthest corner of the village, making sure that pets wouldn't disturb other guests. The sheep paddock adjacent to the cottages was just perfect for our early morning walks, and plays for our doggy. The sheep in the paddock are used to dogs and didn't flinch a bit when our dog tried to encourage them to have a play together. Lenny the hand raised sheep was a good playmate for our puppy and sometimes they had a good play together. The sheep paddock is surrounded by blackberry bushes: what a treat in the morning, a nice stroll with the dog and munching on a handful of blackberries... and admiring the views of mountains across the valley... There is also an option to leave the dogs in the kennel behind the house. Restaurants, honey and cheese factories, caves, Wildlife Park, shopping and bushwalking opportunities are all in easy drive away. Thank you Tracy and all your helpers making our stay so fantastic and easy, hopefully we will have the opportunity to come back and stay with you again!
