Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Excellent accommodation
We stayed two nights, could have stayed a lot longer. Facilities are wonderful, dishwasher, WiFi, washing machine, A/C, wood fire (with chopped wood available), comfortable beds, clean bathroom, kitchen will equipped, clean and tidy. Our only complaint was that the fruit are still in flower and nothing to pick as yet. Hill End is interesting, we did not find any gold but I am sure it is still there to be picked up. Very good place to relax. Enjoyed our time, hope to go back.

Immaculate holiday home
Beautifully appointed, clean and tidy, with A/C running on our arrival (appreciated in the 35 degree plus heat!). Surrounded by great orchard and easy work to Hill End proper. Would be back again in Sept if wasn't booked out then.

It could not have been better!
An immaculate and very comfortable cottage with superb presentation and great attention to detail. We enjoyed it as much as the kangaroos enjoyed eating the apples from the tree right outside the house. Cosy, tucked away without being remote, we only wished we could have stayed longer - much longer. Many thanks.

Tranquility with all mod cons
A real home from home. The cottage has all modern facilities including reverse cycle air conditioning (though I liked to play with the wood fire!) for comfort any time of year. Really peaceful place set in a lovely garden where kangaroos graze in numbers. An easy 15 min stroll into 'town' where the general store and the pub will cater for most needs. Comfortable bed and furniture, excellent lighting and modern kitchen and bathroom make this a wonderful place to stay. They even supply bread and milk to get you started. Hill End itself is such a peaceful place - birds, walks, kangaroos, fresh air and superb night skies. Both roads into Hill End are fully sealed so your city car is in no danger. Stayed for two nights and would return again willingly. We were a couple, but any kids would love it.

Great for relaxing after a day gold fossicking
Easy to find, quiet and well cared for. The chilly night was made cosy by the fireplace. Everything offered was provided and also a few extra groceries we weren't expecting. The mob of kangaroos in the yard kept the kids busy taking photos. Plenty of room and comfortable. I would stay there again without hesitation. Loved it.

Great winter stay in Hill End
Stayed at The Guesthouse - Hill End for a long weekend in June. Wood burning fireplace was a big hit and we thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of the town in such a relaxing setting! Would highly recommend this place to others looking for a relaxing weekend away.

Comfortable and relaxing cottage
Stayed here 3 times now. Well-appointed kitchen and lounge, conveniently located; a home away from home with a relaxed atmosphere and surrounded by an orchard and kangaroos. Owners always caring with cottage warmed (or cooled) on arrival; even called us in a power outage to see if we were fine.
