Rowden Mill Station is set in the rolling countryside of Herefordshire, around half and hour from Ludlow, Worcester and the M5. Externally the site includes authentic detail from Great Western Railway days. The restoration recreates the look of the station during the 1950s and features original platform lights, signboards and posters of the period. Internally the station is converted for modern living while the platform beneath the station canopy provides al-fresco dining possibilities and relaxing views. Meticulously renovated, the interiors are converted to an exacting standard for practical living and feature modern conveniences including a fully fitted kitchen, glorious bathroom and central heating, while in the lounge there is also a wood burning stove. The Station accommodation arrangements are flexible. The Station Building can accommodate 4 in one double bedroom and a set of full size bunk beds in the other bedroom. THE PRICE QUOTED HERE is for THE STATION BUILDING ONLY, SLEEPING A MAXIMUM OF 4 PEOPLE (excluding babies in carry-cots). For parties of above 4 in number we also offer the very comfortable Parcel Office with its fabulous views across the countryside. It has its own wood burning stove and tea making facilities, however as it only has limited bathroom facilities we only offer the Parcel Office IN CONJUNCTION WITH the main station building. The Parcel Office is set up with a double bed and normally hosts 2 guests, though we also have a double sofa-bed. The maximum that the Parcel Office could host is 2 adults and up to 2 additional children. If you want to secure the hiring of both buildings - sleeping 6 (+2 extra children, so Max occupancy of 8 on site) - PLEASE BOOK THROUGH THE SEPARATE TripAdvisor LISTING for Rowden Mill Station - THE STATION BUILDING INCLUDING ANNEXE ( The Parcel Office). We do not charge for babies in carry-cots, though please let us know if you intend to bring a very young child. We provide Freesat TV, fast WiFi, a fully fitted and equipped kitchen. While the station has independent heating, both the Station building and Parcel Office also have wood burning stoves. We offer a starter supply basket of wood, additional wood is charged per basket. Outside there is a large gas BBQ, picnic tables and a Mexican chimenea for guest recreational use, however we do not allow open camp fires or smoking in or around the station. As a disused railway no trains pass by, however the site does include 300+ metres of track. We provide an initial guest safety briefing, however as a renovated railway station, Rowden Mill Station does have platform edges and other obvious trip hazards which guests should be aware of. Parents must take full responsibility for the supervision of their children during their stay. We like to be good neighbours so ask our guests to be considerate in respect to late night noise. We do not allow amplified music outside. As a self-catering venue, we expect guests to leave the property reasonably clean and tidy with recycling, rubbish and ashes cleared away appropriately. Guests are requested to clean the BBQ after use. We keep our charges to a minimum, but would request a deduction from the security deposit if the property is left in an unreasonable condition and we needed to bring in additional help to make the station ready again between guests. Unfortunately, Rowden Mill Station can not accommodate pets. Smoking is not allowed at Rowden Mill Station. There is a contact list in case of emergencies. The station is equipped with smoke and CO2 alarms, fire extinguishers and a first aid kit. More

About the neighbourhood
Within walking distance of a nearby inn at Bredenbury, the historic market town of Bromyard is only a 5-minute drive away offering supermarket, delicatessen, butchers and bakeries plus pubs, post office and bank. We are excellently positioned to explore the Malvern Hills and the Wye River valley, as well as the historic towns of Hereford and Worcester and the ‘Black and White’ villages around Leominster. Great eateries nearby for those who would like to sample the fine food and drink of Herefordshire - plus we are an ideal place to discover the county's cider and perry making trails. The Severn Valley Railway, the Gloucestershire-Warwickshire and the Dean Forest Railway heritage lines are all within one hour’s drive.
Getting around
Rowden Mill Station is set in beautiful rolling countryside. It is criss-crossed with paths and bridleways and within walking distance (1.3 miles) from a nearby inn at Bredenbury (on the A44). We can provide secure storage for cycles. However to explore further afield, a car would be the best way to discover this area of north Herefordshire. Off the A44 Worcester-Leominster road, it is well-connected to the UK motorways with a distance of 21 miles to junction 7 of the M5 (35 minutes) and its links to the Midlands, London and the South West. The nearest railway links are at Leominster (9 miles) and Worcester Foregate or Shrub Hill train stations (17.5 miles).
