Anchor Barn is located in the beautiful North Norfolk village of Morston - a few quiet lanes, a cluster of flint cottages and a 12th century church. It is just half a mile from the larger village of Blakeney which has a mini-supermarket, delicatessen, fishmonger and other amenities. The world famous beaches of Wells and Holkham, seen in Shakespeare in Love are just 15 mins west, while the stunning reed marshes and beaches of Cley and Salthouse, home to a great variety of birds and seen recently in The Duchess, are just 5 minutes East. There are many excellent places to eat including a great village pub, and the Michelin starred Morston Hall. Only stayed for 2 nights but its got a great location . Very close to the coast and a really nice pub at the end of the drive which serves good quality pub grub. Cleanliness could definitely be improved though.

Morston is a delightful brick and flint village that happens to boast two fantastic eateries, the Michelin starred Morston Hall and the popular Anchor gastro-pub. It is home to a bustling quay which swells with people at high tide who come to take one of the many boat trips out to Blakeney point to see the seals or with yachtsmen tacking down the creeks in to the harbour in their Norfolk Oysters. From here you can hire a boat or take lessons from Norkolk etc..sailing school or wander out over wooden bridges towards the natural harbour or simply sit and taste the local crab and mussels on offer.
