Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Birding Paradise
Beautiful, extremely comfortable, magical paradise in the forest. King parrots out your window. Tree kangaroos in the trees. We observed over 24 species of birds, four kangaroo species, two possum species and more. Peaceful walks in private forest. It simply does not get any better. The host is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and engaging. When we dreamed of Australia this was/is the dream. The universe will smile with these wonderful people for what have saved for us all.

Perfection for nature and people
Christina & Thomas have put so much thought & energy into making the cabin the perfect place to see birds & animals whilst being a home away from home it's incredible. Every tiny thing you could wish for has been anticipated & supplied to make your stay the most comfortable & rewarding it could be We had close up views of the most wonderful birds. Every inch of the extended property is in tune with nature, it's such a joy to be there. The hosts are super friendly as well as being extremely knowledgable I can't rate this property highly enough. A highlight in many years of travel

All the website promised - and more!
Because of our travel itinerary we were only able to stay 2 nights which was the only downer. The cabin is exceptionally comfortable and well equipped. Being set right in the forest meant bird visitors (and bandicoots) were numerous. The attention of our hosts was first rate. The walking tracks around the property are well maintained and marked. We didn't see a tree kangaroo or a platypus but that gives us an excuse to return.

Delightful forest reserve experience in every way
We had a lovely week here. The cabin is thoughtfully positioned, designed, and fitted out. It is very private, light and airy, attractive and comfortable both inside and outside on the large verandah. Lay out is practical, multiple power points, several lighting options, quality fittings, Wi Fi is good. Christina and Thomas are welcoming and knowledgeable about the local birds and plants and their love of nature and joy in continuing to explore and learn is inspiring. We enjoyed many hours during the days and evenings on the large verandah, watching and listening to the birds, the nocturnal possum and bandicoot visitors, and all the sights and sounds of the forest surrounding us on our doorstep. The forest walk setting off from the cabin was well signed, and interesting with seats along the way for peaceful contemplation. The kitchen is well planned and equipped, self catering was easy, we cooked and ate outside each evening, shopped at excellent supermarkets in Atherton and Malanda each only half an hour drive. There are several nature reserves nearby and we look forward to continuing to explore them when we next stay at Birdwatchers Cabin.

Perfection
If you are looking for peace tranquility and first class accommodation and owners that go the extra mile to make your stay perfect. You need go no further than the Birdwatchers cabin in Wondecla. Christina and Thomas make you feel at home the minute you drive into their property. Christina Has an encyclopaedic knowledge of the fauna flora and wildlife and is more than willing to explain all. This is our sixth visit and the standards remain first class. The cabin is secluded with a panoramic view of the Forrest. Possums and bandicoots visit nightly and an abundance of birds during the day.

unbeatable
The cabin is tasteful, spotless, roomy, comfortable, and well equipped. It has large windows looking out at the forest, a spacious patio with the same view, and there is an easy walking track through the forest. Christina and Thomas are very good at attracting animals to feeders without over-feeding them, which makes it easy to see a lot of neat wildlife during your stay. We particularly enjoyed the king parrots and a possum that visited us nightly. The walking track takes you by an immense orange-footed scrubfowl nest mound, and their calls can be heard from the cabin. Christina is an excellent naturalist, and can help you identify most of the plants and animals on the property. The property is large enough that you will not see or hear anyone (except the owners) else while you are there. Despite the cabin's feeling of remoteness, there are small towns nearby where you can buy groceries, and a number of very different and beautiful nature reserves nearby. I can only say nice things about our stay there, and found Christina to be by far the kindest and most helpful host imaginable. And to top it all off, the price is a bargain.

We really enjoyed staying in this peaceful, beautiful location with something to look at all the time. We didn't even want to leave the veranda, there are so many birds around.
