This beautiful little cottage provided the perfect base for adventures into the Peak District. After wet walks it provided a warm, cosy and peaceful return. It is immaculate inside and out with everything you would need and more. I cannot recommend highly enough.

We booked Yew Tree Cottage as a result of a combination of good reviews, it's location near to the Tissington and High Peak Trails and it's proximity to several pubs within walking distance. The cottage itself was sensitively refurbished and had everything that we needed...More

Combines the best of hikes in the great outdoors and strolls around picturesque villages. The cottage is very well equipped, tastefully decorated...More

About the neighbourhood
Fenny Bentley is the most southerly village in the Peak District. Its a small village located close to Dovedale, which you can walk to across beautiful countryside directly from this cottage. Fenny Bentley, with a lovely church where you can see the rare and strange shrouded tomb of the Beresford family, lies three miles north of the attractive market town of Ashbourne, on the A515 Buxton to Ashbourne Road. The disused track of the former London and North Western Railway from Ashbourne to Buxton, which is now a leisure trail for walkers, cyclists and horse riders, the 'Tissington Trail', is very close to our cottage, together with other walks of the local countryside without the need for a car. Each year Fenny Bentley plays host to the World Toe Wrestling Championships in the local Bentle...
How to get there
Travelling from the south. From Ashbourne, take the A515 towards Buxton. After 3 miles, the Coach and Horses Pub in Fenny Bentley is on your right. 200m further on, take the next left into Ashes Lane. Yew Tree Cottage is immediately on your left. Travelling from the North Take the A515 from the direction of Buxton towards Ashbourne. Go past the Bluebell Inn at Tissington, go under a blue metal bridge and when you come to the Fenny Bentley village sign take the next right turn approximately 200m away. This is Ashes Lane and Yew Tree Cottage is the first property on the left. It is very visible from the A515.
