'Whitestone Cottage' was built in the late 18th Century and is part of a row of cottages, which were originally the homes of mill workers. It is a three storey cottage full of historic character displaying features such as an Ingelnook Fireplace with inset woodburner, and an abundance of beams, whilst offering guests the modern luxuries that make the perfect getaway retreat.

We confirm all bookings via email and never double book. As the owners we take great pride in the cottage and ensure that everythign is perfect for your stay. We can provide towes for guests at a small charge per person. The cottage does have a washing machine so guests can lauder during thier stay.

The location was close to main road but on a quite street - well centered for all popular locations. Small cottage but ok for a base to visit the lakes.

Newby Bridge, once a part of Lancashire, is a small village adjoining the River Leven at the southern end of Lake Windermere. It got its name from the five-arched stone bridge built across the river in 1651. It caters superbly for holidaymakers, and has a steam railway station on the preserved Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway. Newby Bridge is a fantastic base to explore the Furness peninsula and southern Lakeland areas.
