Cartmel Hill is a stunning large country house located in a spectacular and very peaceful off-road location in the hills above Cartmel village.

The house has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and sleeps 8 people. For an extra nightly charge a 5th bedroom can be used bringing the total number of guests to 10.

Please note that we only rent out our cottages for the following options:-

Full week from a Monday or Friday.
3 night weekend of Friday to Monday.
4 night mid-week break of Monday to Friday.

The only exceptions are over Christmas and New year.

This traditional stone-built 18th barn conversion is the best holiday home in Cartmel and offers a very high standard of accommodation with spectacular views in a peaceful and beautiful location.

About the neighbourhood
Cartmel Hill is located away from roads in the hills above the gorgeous village of Cartmel in Cumbria.

The quiet, peaceful location has absolutely spectacular views sweeping down the valley and out across the vast expanses of Morecambe Bay.

The tidal bay usually has 2 high tides a day and when the tide is in the sea views from the house, garden and patio are amazing.

This pretty South Lakeland village of Cartmel has several restaurants, 5 pubs, several wonderful cafes, an excellent cheese shop, artisan bakery, a wine bar and shop, a chocolate shop and the world famous Cartmel Village Shop, home to the acclaimed Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding.

Cartmel village is also home to L’Enclume, Britain’s best restaurant!
Getting around
WALKS

There are 6 footpaths from ‘The Hill’ as it is listed on Ordnance Survey maps.

Our favourite walk from the house takes you along the babbling stream called ‘Burns Beck’ and then winds up Howbarrow fell for breath-taking 360 degree views across The Lake District (Cumbria), Yorkshire and across Morecambe Bay to north Lancashire. Even when the tide is out you can see right out to sea with Peel Island and Castle visible on a clear day.


This lovely walk takes less than an hour (details are left in the house for you along with plenty of other walks too)


Cartmel Valley is a great location for people who love walking. The local fells are not high or too steep and the higher Lake District mountains and lakes are only a short drive away.
