Please note that this is an industry standard 4ft wide double bed. The saloon has a removable dining table, colour flat screen digital TV/DVD player, Freeview and a radio/CD player that plays throughout the boat. Galley: Fully-equipped galley with 4 ring cooker, oven & grill. Electric fridge with freezer compartment. Cutlery, crockery, saucepans and cooking utensils are provided. T-towels, washing-up liquid and cleaning materials are also on-board as well as waste bin, replacement liners, and the welcome pack comprising tea, coffee, sugar, milk and snacks. There is a selection of condiment, sauces, preserves and butter to help you settle in as well as a 5 litre bottle of drinking water and a cafetiere, a teapot, and for the budding chef, mixing bowls. (people do make cakes on board) Cabins: Two cabins. The mid cabin has a permanent King Sized fold away bed and private toilet with wash basin, cabinet and bright LED lights. A King sized bed ( 6'3" x 5' ) with 9" thick memory foam "Coolmax" mattress and Egyptian cotton bed linen. The front cabin has a king sized bed ( 6'3" x 5'3") with Egyptian cotton bed linen and as many pillows as you wish. TV in bed, hot water bottle and Teddy to keep you company on dark nights. Fluffy bath and hand towels are provided for every person on board. Bathroom: There is a flush toilet, wash basin, cupboard and full size shower in the bathroom. What's Included? Repeat guests: Repeat guests receive a 5% loyalty discount on top of any other discounts applicable.

A lovely floating holiday

My 2 sisters and I hired this boat with our mum. It was the hottest week of the year and positively delightful. The boat was just the right size for 4 people - anymore and it would have been uncomfortable. I'd arrive an hour in advance of the check in time as there are a lot of boats setting off at the same time and we had to wait ages to clear the first lock. Paul and the team were helpful and trusting. The beds are wide and comfortable. However they are very high off the floor. It was a scramble for me and my sisters to get on it and as our mum is due a knee replacement, getting in and out of bed was quite a task for her. I also would have picked a boat that had doors at the front so our mum could enjoy the view even more. We went down Llangollen Canal and though it was busy, thoroughly enjoyed soaking up nature to the (rather loud) hum of the engine. It was a good first experience and one we hope to try again in the future now that we have learnt the basics. With a bit more planning, its definitely a great way to offer older family members immersion in the countryside without taxing their bodies too much.
